Why does a sunroof drain get clogged?

A sunroof has drainage channels that collect rainwater around the roof and direct it to the bottom of the car via hoses and drainage channels. Over time, debris accumulates in these gutters—such as leaves, fruit, dust, and dirt that blows in through the sunroof or panoramic roof. The debris settles in the drain hoses and forms a clog. The water can no longer drain away and flows into the interior through the open roof. The consequences include water damage to interior components, damage to the electronics, and costly repairs.

Cleaning a sunroof drain without disassembly

With the ADC2025, you can clean a sunroof drain without having to remove interior panels or trim. The sturdy pressure hose (2.5 meters) is long enough to reach the drain channel along the B-pillar of the BMW X Series (starting in 2025). The one-way valve ensures controlled flow during cleaning. Use the rinse bottle (250 ml) to flush and test the drain.
