Snap-on Diagnostic EVAP Leak Detector

Snap-on EELD700A

You can’t fix what you can’t see. An EVAP smoke machine makes leaks visible that cannot be detected by the naked eye. With the Snap-on EELD700A, you can quickly detect leaks in EVAP systems, intake and exhaust systems, and even in the interior. This allows you to make a reliable diagnosis more quickly and save time in the workshop.

Key features of the EELD700A Diagnostic EVAP smoke machine

Red-dot-1 Quickly detects leaks in EVAP systems, both intake and exhaust

Red-dot-1 Detects leaks with an accuracy of 0.25 mm

Red-dot-1 Also identifies air and water leaks

Red-dot-1 Two test modes: smoke and air for a pressure drop test

Red-dot-1 Illuminated flow meter and touchpad, easy to read even in low light

Red-dot-1 Rechargeable LED inspection lamp with UV function

Increased turnover in the workshop

Detecting leaks without a smoke machine takes a long time. With the EELD700A, you can introduce smoke into the system and locate the leak within a matter of minutes. You avoid unnecessary replacement of parts and repeat repairs. This saves time and makes leak detection a cost-effective service.

You can see smoke; it’s dry and stays suspended in the air. That’s why it helps you find even the tiniest leaks that you can’t see with the naked eye.

What the EELD700A does

You can use it to detect leaks in EVAP systems, vacuum lines, intake manifolds and exhaust systems. It also helps you trace leaks in vent valves, filler pipes, fuel tanks and fuel caps. In addition, the machine detects draughts and water leaks around doors, windows and open roofs.

The smoke penetrates even the smallest leaks, enabling you to make a reliable diagnosis quickly. The EELD700A helps you with common fault codes in the EVAP system. Examples include P0440 (general fault in the EVAP system) and P0442 (small leak detected). You can quickly pinpoint the cause and check whether the car complies with emission standards again.

Two test modes

The EELD700A has two modes. In smoke mode, you introduce smoke into the system to locate the leak. In air mode, you carry out a pressure drop test without smoke. If the system maintains the pressure, there is no leak. If the pressure drops, there is a leak. This allows you to quickly identify faults and carry out targeted testing.

Easy to read and simple to use

The illuminated flow meter is easy to read even in low light. The flow control valve is robust and can be adjusted continuously. The touchpad buttons are backlit, so you can see them clearly even under the bonnet. The machine comes with a rechargeable LED inspection lamp with a UV function, which allows you to visualise the smoke and the fluorescent dye.

The cable management system neatly stores the battery cable and the hose. The battery cables are detachable. An optional mains power supply is available.

Flexible bellows adapter

The EELD700A comes as standard with the flexible bellows adapter (EELD700A-1). This allows you to seal an opening and feed in smoke. The opening does not need to be round. You can inflate the adapter from 48 to 140 mm and it is heat-resistant up to 149 degrees Celsius. You can replace the rubber on the bellows using the set of two replacement rubber parts (EELD700A-11).

Comprehensive accessory kit

The EELD700A comes with a comprehensive accessory kit. Included as standard:

  • Flexible bellows adapter (EELD700A-1)
  • EVAP quick-connect set (EELD700A-2)
  • Set of sealing caps (EELD700A-3)
  • Rechargeable inspection lamp (EELD700A-4)
  • Case for the accessory kit (EELD700A-5)
  • Smoke fluid (EELD700A-6)
  • 12 V power cable (EELD700A-14)
  • Rookslang (EELD700A-15)

Optional extras include an exhaust cone, a universal fill pipe connector, a mains power supply, an EVAP port adapter set, a nitrogen kit, UV smoke fluid and UV inspection goggles.

Working Safely

Operate the machine with the engine switched off. When working on fuel or EVAP systems, use an inert gas such as nitrogen, CO₂ or argon. Compressed air may mix with fuel vapours. Use only Snap-on smoke fluid and adaptors. Read the manual before use and follow the safety instructions.
