Identify the right fault more quickly using practical knowledge from the workshop

Machine translation, reports faults to info@snap-on.eu

Error codes can be misleading, symptoms often overlap, and searching for answers can quickly become too time-consuming. The Troubleshooter Tips combine OEM data with practical knowledge gained from real-world workshop repairs. In the SEAT Leon 1.6L Diesel (2010–2013), for example, a desiccant sachet breaking down in the expansion tank causes contamination that blocks the heater core – something you could easily overlook without this knowledge. In the Mercedes SLK 200 1.8L Petrol (2004–2011), a fault in the air flow meter could just as easily be caused by wiring or the intake system, leading you to wrongly identify the sensor as the culprit.

With these insights, you no longer have to rely on assumptions. You can recognise common faults straight away, carry out targeted checks (such as comparing inlet and outlet temperatures in the case of that boiler fault) and thus avoid replacing parts that are actually in good working order. This saves time on the work floor and increases the likelihood that the repair will be done right first time.

The latest software version further expands this database with millions of real-world repair records, supporting images for clearer fault identification, and guidelines for both code- and symptom-based issues. Combined with the Guided Component Tests, this helps you achieve a more reliable diagnosis and reduce the number of repeat visits.
