When tightening wheel nuts and bolts, it should be according to the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications. Too low a tightening torque is dangerous. The Snap-on QB4R750 break-over torque wrench solves this. You set the desired torque and tighten. The moment you reach the set value, the wrench head physically tilts away. You can’t tighten any further after that. That’s the big difference from a click torque wrench<\/a>: with a click torque wrench, after the first click, you can just keep turning and unknowingly build up more torque than you want. This is how the break-over torque wrench works<\/b><\/h3>\n

A snap torque wrench works differently from a conventional click torque wrench. With a snap torque wrench, you hear a click when the set torque is reached. This works fine in a quiet room, but in a busy, noisy workshop, you’ll miss the click in no time. With a snap torque wrench, the head tilts when you reach the set value. You see and feel that movement immediately. That makes the QB4R750 more reliable in a noisy work environment. <\/span><\/p>\n

What do you use this key for?<\/b><\/h3>\n

The range of 300 to 1,000 Nm makes the QB4R750 suitable for many heavy-duty jobs. <\/span>On trucks, you use it for tightening wheel nuts. Heavy trucks require a tightening torque of 300 to 650 Nm depending on the make and type. With buses, those values are in the same range. <\/span><\/p>\n

On tractors and harvesters, use this wrench to tighten wheel nuts. Large tractors with heavy rims sometimes require more than 600 Nm. In factories and plants, you use it to tighten bolts securing two metal pipe ends together. Think pumps, compressors and thick pipes. With these types of connections, exact tightening torque is often a safety requirement. <\/span><\/p>\n

The QB4R750 also comes in handy with wind turbines. The large bolts that hold the parts of a wind turbine together must be tightened to a precise torque. Important to know: never use this wrench to loosen rusted bolts. A torque wrench is only for tightening to a set torque. <\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n \n \n <\/section>\n\n\n\n

Maintenance and calibration<\/b><\/h3>\n

A break-over torque wrench needs regular calibration to remain accurate. Always return the wrench to its lowest position after use. This keeps the spring relaxed and maintains accuracy. Original Snap-on maintenance kits are available for servicing the ratchet head. <\/span><\/p>\n

The QB4R750 is the heaviest version in the series. Need less torque? The QB4R450 goes up to 600 Nm. The QB4R600 goes up to 800 Nm. So you always choose the wrench that fits your job. <\/span><\/p>\n
