Frequently asked questions

What certificate will I receive after completing the NEN 9140:2024 training course?

After completing the training and passing the final examination, you will receive a certificate as a Sufficiently Trained Person (VOP) and Competent Person (VP).

With this certificate, you are authorised to disconnect electrical and plug-in hybrid vehicles from the power supply and are then authorised to work on these vehicles in accordance with the revised NEN 9140 2024 standard.

What is new about the NEN 9140-2024 standard and your training?

There are four major changes in the new NEN 9140 2024 standard, which we have incorporated into the revised training course:

1. High-voltage systems now start at 30V AC and 60V DC. If a vehicle or mobile tool has an on-board network in this voltage range, you will need a NEN 9140 2024 certificate.

2. There is now an extensive chapter on “working under voltage”, particularly in battery packs.

3. The applicability of the standard has been extended to sectors such as agriculture, construction, earthmoving and construction machinery, which are seeing increasing electrification.
