Tire Pressure Sensor and Programming Tool

The Snap-on TPMS6 tyre pressure sensor system tester is the most advanced all-in-one tester for TPMS systems in the most common European, Asian and American vehicles. With the TPMS6, vehicle technicians can now check TPMS systems and reprogramme and clone valves even more easily and quickly.

This is what sets the TPMS6 apart from other TPMS devices:

Red-dot-1 Also works with the Tesla Bluetooth TPM sensors

Red-dot-1 Test the remote control key for signal strength

Red-dot-1 Separate trailer TPMS function for up to 3 axles and 12 wheels, including dual tyres

Red-dot-1 Programmes sensor IDs using Snap-on diagnostic testers

Red-dot-1 Programmes aftermarket sensors using Create, Copy and Manual ID

Red-dot-1 Larger screen, revamped interface and the ability to download updates via Wi-Fi

The TPMS6 allows you to trigger the sensors and read the data for each wheel. You can view the sensor ID, pressure, temperature, frequency and battery status. The sensor ID can be displayed in hexadecimal or decimal format, as required. Pressure is shown in PSI, Bar or kPa, and temperature in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit. If the battery is good, it displays ‘OK’; if it is flat, it displays ‘NOK’.

Replacing and reprogramming TPMS sensors

Does a sensor need replacing? The TPMS6 can programme aftermarket sensors from a wide range of brands. You can choose ‘Create’ to generate a new sensor ID, ‘Copy’ or ‘Copy Set’ to copy an existing ID, or ‘Manual ID’ to enter an ID manually. You can also search for part numbers based on OEM and aftermarket sensors.

The TPMS6 re-calibrates TPMS systems using vehicle-specific reset procedures. When re-calibrating after replacing a sensor, vehicle-specific instructions are displayed on the screen. When re-calibrating sensor IDs via OBD, the TPMS6 works in conjunction with Snap-on diagnostic testers.

Service Kit, key test and trailers

The Service Kit function displays the correct maintenance kit for the sensor for each selected vehicle. This kit contains the valve’s wear and sealing parts, such as the valve insert, the seal, the cap and the nut. You can see the part number and the tightening torques, so that you can order the correct kit and fit the valve to the specified torque.

The TPMS6 also tests the remote-control key. Many programming procedures require a working key, so you should first check the signal strength. In addition, there is a separate Trailer TPMS function for trailers and heavy machinery, supporting up to 3 axles and 12 wheels, including twin tyres.

Also works with Tesla

The Snap-on TPMS6 is also compatible with Tesla Bluetooth TPMS sensors. Tesla does not use standard 315 or 433 MHz sensors, but rather sensors that operate via Bluetooth Low Energy. As a result, many older TPMS testers are unable to read them. The TPMS6 can read them, ensuring you are prepared for the growing number of Teslas in your workshop.

The TPMS trigger accessory activates sensors remotely

In addition to the tester, there is the TPMSWAND, the TPMS trigger accessory. The TPMSWAND activates sensors remotely, so the tester does not need to be held against the tyre. This means you do not have to bend down to reach the valve. The TPMSWAND is also useful for triggering the sensors on dual tyres on heavy machinery. The TPMSWAND connects to the TPMS5 or TPMS6 via Bluetooth.

Download updates via Wi-Fi

Updates are downloaded via Wi-Fi. You do not need to connect the tester to a computer. The updates keep the tester up to date, ensuring it continues to work with the latest vehicles and sensors. One year of software updates is included; after that, you can extend the updates using the TPMS6U Software Update.

Would you prefer to try out the TPMS6 before you buy it? You can, with our ‘Try Before You Buy’ scheme. Ask your Snap-on franchisee for more information and a demonstration.
