SFD access Volkswagen Audi Group cars
Snap-on Diagnostics introduces Schutz Fahrzeug Diagnose (SFD) access for Volkswagen Audi Group passenger cars and vans via all its diagnostic platforms with Wi-Fi connectivity. The Volkswagen Audi Group is the latest addition to Snap-on Security Link (Vehicle Diagnostics Security) alongside the previously introduced access to secure electronic control units from Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Nissan.
More and more car manufacturers are introducing firewalls to protect electronic control units from unauthorised access. Snap-on is continuously developing its diagnostic equipment to help automotive businesses meet these challenges. The latest addition is Volkswagen Audi Group (VAG) vehicles Seat, Skoda, Audi and Volkswagen.
Snap-on Security Link
To ensure secure connection to vehicle control units, Snap-on has developed the simple, fast and secure Security Link. The Security Link functionality always requires the latest diagnostic software and an active licence.
- Go to Technician Profile @altusdrive.com.
- Select Volkswagen Audi Group on the Security Link tab and follow the instructions on the screen.
- You will be asked to create a ‘Profile Access Code’.
- An email verification will be sent to the email address used to set up the Technician Profile.
- Once verified, you are ready to begin.
- Each time you work with a secure VAG vehicle, you must enter your ‘Profile Access Code’ on your diagnostic tester.
This registration process ensures seamless integration of the new Security Link functionality with your Snap-on diagnostic platform.
Secure Gateway access Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Nissan
The addition of SFD access for Volkswagen Audi Group vehicles follows the previously introduced Secure Gateway to secure control units from Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Nissan.
Owners of the above-mentioned Snap-on diagnostic equipment have direct Secure Gateway access to secure Fiat, Alfa and Lancia control units. This means that technicians do not have to wait (sometimes weeks) for Secure Gateway access from Fiat, but can get started immediately after completing the registration process via Snap-on.
To access secure vehicle control units, visit the Security Link website at https://www.snapon.com/gateway/eu-nl. For more information or a demonstration, contact your local Snap-on franchisee.
