300 RPM cordless screwdriver for advanced materials
The Snap-on CTSOEM861DB – 14.4 Volt MicroLithium 1/4″ cordless screwdriver is specially designed for working with expensive, innovative and highly advanced high-performance (composite) materials. The tool has a maximum adjustable speed of 300 revolutions per minute and nine easily adjustable torque settings from 0.12 to 22 Nm. This configuration prevents fasteners such as bolts, nuts and screws from being tightened too quickly and too tightly, which could damage expensive, fragile materials.
In engineering, increasingly advanced premium (composite) materials such as carbon fibre, titanium, aluminium, ceramic materials, titanium and superalloys are being used. These materials must be handled with care and in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications. If it appears that the materials have not been treated correctly, the manufacturer’s warranty will lapse, the manufacturer will no longer be liable for damage, and the person who treated the materials incorrectly will be held liable.
Speed saves time
In engineering, many components are assembled using a multitude of bolts, nuts and other fasteners. A well-known example in the automotive industry is the covers of electric car battery packs. These are mounted on the relatively ‘soft’ aluminium battery housing using up to 100 bolts.

OEM obligation
Manufacturers of products with advanced materials specify how components must be disassembled and assembled. Volkswagen Group with the Porsche, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, MAN, Scania, Ducati, Cupra, Audi, Seat and Skoda brands, among others, requires that covers of battery packs and various interior and other sensitive parts must be tightened with up to 300 RPM and specified tightening torques
